Featured Creation by Tertia

Sorry, I haven't had a new feature in a while - since the 9th to be precise - because I was frantically working away on some commissions that needed to be finished.  Besides the work obligations, holiday season usually means extra gatherings and activities at school and work for a lot of us, the social calendar gets filled up.

I'm happy to be writing up another crafter showcase today though.  ^_^  I have a beautiful submission from Tertia Jacobs with my popular "Peacock Masquerade" image.

I love the rich royal blue against her golden skin and blond hair.  It really livens up the image.  The pearls of different size really bring add to the 3D feel.  I love the lustre of pearls that adds soft highlights and low lights, adding visual details in a subtle way.  Tertia kept the card design simple with light green and white stripes for the background, which is perfect for the refreshing yet high-energy feel of the coloring she has done to the image.

"Peacock Masquerade" digi is available at AW Etsy Shop right here.  It is a 1500 x 2100 pixels, 300 dpi, JPG file.  This image was originally painted as an ACEO (2.5" x 3.5", the same size as a baseball card).  I received a request from a fan to make it available as a digi, and since its release, it has been very popular.  I guess there are a lot of people who love masks as much as I do. :D

Be sure to keep checking the AuroraWings facebook group now through Christmas as we continue to play lots of games.  And games mean chances to win free digis!

Designer Spotlight - Charlene

Hi, everyone!  Thank you for stopping by today.  ^_^  It's already the second week of December.  Time flies when you're having fun, doesn't it?  Today, I'm feeling Christmasy again, and this lovely creation by one of the AuroraWings Challenge Blog's DT member, Charlene Short, caught my attention while I was looking at the submissions album. (Yes, in case you didn't know, there is a submission album at the FB group where you can add your cards to be showcased on this blog.  When your piece is featured, you get a blog badge and a free digi of your choice - up to $4 value.  So be sure to add the best of your creations to the album today!  Holiday themed pieces will most likely get a lot of attention for the month of December. *hint hint*)

Here's the lovely Christmas card by Charlene with "Mistletoe Fairy" digi.  I love this sassy little fairy all dressed up and ready for a party with a hair of mistletoe.  Just love the way Charlene colored her, giving her natural mistletoe colors with red ribbons and pearls for the berries.  I also love the forest green and gold color scheme throughout on papers in traditional holiday motifs.

You can find the "Mistletoe Fairy" digi at the AW Etsy shop and AW web shop.  This image is available as a 300 dpi JPG digi at 1500 x 2100 pixels (5" x 7"/ 12.7 x 17.8 cm).

Just want to mention the current offers going on at AuroraWings before I wrap up this post.  ^_^

Featured Creation by Denise

Hi, everyone!  I'm doing a second crafter showcase of the month already. :D  See if I can keep this up. *fingers crossed*  Today, we have a beautiful work by Denise Goeldner with "Circe" digi.  I don't see this one on cards very often and I think I know the reason why.  I think it's the lion's fur that's intimidating to some.  Hehe.  Personally, I've always loved Circe's slightly annoyed look with one raised eyebrow.

I love the watercolor feel she created on the image.  It's soft, but still packs a visual punch  because of the orange and purple combo.  The paper in shades of lilac continues the watercolor-like look and adds a nice feminine feel as does the lace border all the way around.  Simply gorgeous!!  You can read more about this card in her blog post right here.

"Circe" is available as a larger square digi of 7" x 7" (17.8 cm square), 2100 x 2100 pixels at 300 dpi in JPG.  Listing is located right here on AW Etsy shop.  The full version (the original line art) is available exclusively in the new coloring book of darker fantasy images titled "Midnight Gardens".

Since we are on a theme of large cat (lion) here, I'm going to stretch and mention a very special deal involving a little kitty.

"Christmas Light Kitty" digi is 2100 x 1500 pixels (7" x 5"/17.8 c 12.7 cm) at 300 dpi in JPG format.  Yours FREE with a minimum of $10 purchase during the special campaign period (through December 15, 2014 at 11:59 pm ET US.).  This kitty is inspired by one of the bad kitties at out house, who seem to think we can never stay mad at them for very long because they're simply too adorable no matter what kind of mess they leave for me to clean.  ^^;

Featured Creation by Manderly

Hi, everyone!  I can't believe it's already December, and Christmas is just around the corner. It's a fun time of the year with parties and special events of all kinds.  It can also be hectic and busy, but I'm going to try to keep up with regular installments of crafter features as much as I can. :D

Today, we have one of my favorites from Manderly Lynn with "Poppy Elf".  This beautiful card was a Top 3 winner in September's contest at the AuroraWings Facebook Group.  I'm going to take a quick moment to thank you all for keeping the fb group so active and lively with new posts every day.  I love checking everyone's posts and all the interaction there.  ^_^  It's amazing that we are getting near the 2,000 members mark... :D

I love the coloring and the color choice on the main image.  Red poppies in full range within the hue from orange highlights to the deepest of crimson, purple in her hair, and green in the background.  It's stunning by itself, but the framing with the die-cuts in black and gold adds to the magic, continuing the enchantment.  The bird is placed perfectly to be the object of the Poppy Elf's gaze.  How cute is that?  And last, but not least, I LOVE the lighting on this project for the photographing.  The spotlight (the mood is almost like that of an art gallery here.) highlights the image and adds another layer of magic to the overall presentation.  I LOVE the attention and care that went into capturing this beautiful card.  You can see more pics and read about this project on her blog right here.

If you'd also like to have a play with "Poppy Elf", she's available at AW Etsy shop here and at AW web shop here.  She comes in JPG format at 1500 x 2100 pixels (at 300 dpi), 5" x7"/12.7x 17.8 cm.

There's a special Cyber Week deal going on right now.  Don't miss your chance to save 25% now through Dec. 7, 2014.  As always, the discount code is only valid on all-digi purchases. ( If you want to buy physical items like prints and coloring books, they'll have to be purchased in a separate transaction.  Thank you for your understanding.)

New Release Showcase - Christmas Cactus Sprite

Hi, everyone!  Glad you can stop by today as we have a DT showcase of a new release digi "Christmas Cactus Sprite".  :D  Christmas cactus is one of the plants that are popular around holidays along with amaryllis and poinsettia, among others.  I have a pot of Christmas cactus that sit behind me next to a window that started out in a 4 inch pot many years ago.  It's got many buds, so by Christmas, it should be full of blooms.

Our Showcase DT has created a wonderful gallery of samples.  Enjoy this parade of blooming Christmas Cactus Sprite!

Aren't they beautiful?  ^_^  Sweet and festive, I love all the color combinations and the sweet card designs the designers have come up with.  All so Christmasy!

The "Christmas Cactus Sprite" digi is available in JPG and PNG formats at AW Etsy shop and in JPG at AW web shop.  This digi is 6" square or 15.2 cm square (1800 x 1800 pixels at resolution of 300 dpi).

If you like Christmas Cactus Sprite, you might also like "Poinsettia Sprite" for your season's greetings project.  Available here on Etsy and here at the AW site.

Well, this showcase marks 2014's last DT showcase.  The team will go on a break for the month of December.  I will continue to bring you crafter features and updates periodically.  So keep checking back to see what's new.  ^_^

And before I wrap up this post, here are November's discount codes for you.  Codes expire at 11:59 pm ET US on Sunday, November 30, 2014.  Happy shopping!  Thank you for checking out today's showcase!!

Featured Creation by Teresa

Hi, everyone!  Welcome to another crafter feature post here at the AuroraWings Showcase Blog!  We've been seeing a lot of snow lately, and even here in the desert west of the Rockies where I live, we finally had our first little bit of snow. :D  Luckily for me, it was one of these light dustings that make everything look pretty, but melts away before noon and driving is not a problem.

In the mood for the beauty of snow, this creation by Teresa Morgan (She's a regular here in Crafter Features, and has recently guested at the AW Challenge Blog.), using the "Snow Queen" digi, called out to me today. :D

Isn't this a lovely card?  I love the balance between beautifully colored image with lots of details and the CAS design on the rest of the card.  The lace to the left echoes all the details in the image just enough.  The main image, printed on a colored stock (kraft), is a perfect base for highlighting, and the resulting image is magical.  Her pale, flawless skin, icy blue hair, and the fur coat all look so magical!  You can read more about this beautiful creation in right here in her blog.

"Snow Queen" is available as a 300 dpi JPG digi, 7" x 5"/ 17.8 x 12.7 cm (2100 x 1500 pixels) at AW Etsy shop here and at the AW web shop here.  The original illustration was inspired by the famous fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen - one of my childhood favorites.  The digi version is formatted for greeting cards, but the original version had a little more details, under her, of roses and bees (references that those familiar with the story will pick up, no doubt  ^_^).

On Friday, we have our last DT showcase of 2014, of a new release digi, coming up.  I say the last of the year 2014, because we'll be back in January 2015 with more showcases, but the Showcase DT will go on a Christmas holiday for the month. :D  I will continue to post crafter showcase and toss in some coupon codes, so please keep checking back. ;)  Meanwhile, here's the "Choose Your Code" offer that's good through the end of this month.

As always, these codes are for digi purchases ONLY.  Please separate your transactions if you wish to buy coloring books and other physical items that require shipping.   This offer is good at both of my shop locations.  Just a reminder: If you're using the AW web shop at the www.AuroraWings.com site, please know that your download link will only stay active for 24 hours after transaction.  So be sure to shop when you're ready to download right afterwards.

Freatured Creation by Marlene

Hi, everyone!  Oh, boy, it's been a long time since we had a crafter feature, hasn't it? ^^;  My bad.
It's been so cold in many parts of the US and the northern hemisphere in general, now that the winter is upon us.  But with the cold weather come the holidays - getting together with family and friends, seasonal decorations, shopping - busy and maybe often hectic, but definitely a nice time.  Imagine how drab and long the winter months would be without the holidays.  *shudders*

I was looking through the submission album today, and this one caught my attention with the lovely autumn colors.  This beautiful card is by Marlene Ekeblad Andersen with "Autumn Rose" digi.

Marlene gave this image a gorgeous fall color palette of warm reds and yellows, with a touch of berry blue for a lovely effect.  It also captures the mood of nature's final glory before it goes into dormancy, with a hint of melancholy as if the beautiful elf already misses the gorgeous season before it's completely gone.  On the brighter note, the colors also remind me of the bounty of the fall crop that will be gracing our tables during the holidays.  Just lovely all the way around!  Please be sure to check out her blog here and give her some love.

The "Autumn Rose" digi is available as a 300 dpi 5" x 7" (12.7 x 17.8 cm) JPG image (1500 x 2100 pixels).
It's at AW Etsy shop here and at the AW web shop here.

November marks my 2-year anniversary on Etsy and 1-year anniversary of the Facebook group.  To thank you for your wonderful support, I have three levels of savings for you for the rest of November.  Whether you're interested in the popular Sprites or want to grab some images for the holidays, you choose the level of savings based on how much you want to spend. ;)  Happy shopping!

New Release Showcase - Rococo Cinderella

Welcome to our new showcase post today! So happy you can stop by.  ^_^  This new digi is one of my most finely detailed, and therefore, coming in a larger format than usual so you can color your heart out on a full size paper if you wanted to.  Please check out our gallery of beautiful cards made with "Rococo Cinderella"~!!

This is the 'simplified' (if you can believe that!) version of the drawing I made back in August for inclusion in a multi-artist collaborative fairy tales coloring book titled "Apples and Roses" from Ellen Million Graphics.

The original 'full' version of "Rococo Cinderella" is a coloring book exclusive.
I would like to thank all of you AuroraWings fans who supported the Kickstarter fundraiser back in September.  Your support made it possible to have 2 brand new solo titles, plus a reprint of my popular "Gardens & Goddesses" coloring book.  These books should become available at my Etsy shop sometime this month.  Without further ado, let's get started with the showcase!  Enjoy!!

Aren't they just GORGEOUS?  Tons of details in her dress make for hours of coloring fun!  Frills, folds, laces, flowers, ribbons... the details go on and on.  And oh so many color combinations are possible!  Just imagine!  I myself have not found my color pick to actually make a full color version of the original yet.  At the rate I'm going, though, it's probably not going to be happening in the remaining two months of this year.

"Rococo Cinderella" is available as a JPG digi as well as a transparency-supported PNG digi at my Etsy shop.  The AW web shop is currently carrying just JPGs while I sort things out for ease of navigation.  ^^;

She comes at 2400 x 3000 pixels at 300 dpi (8" x 10"/ 20.3 x 25.4 cm approx.).  Size down to make her fit your normal greeting cards, or print out at original size for a major coloring project.  This digi would also make a wonderful coloring project for princess themed birthday parties for girls, too!

Here's a pic of one of my designers, Karola Geiger's coloring, with her 4-year-old Amelie's!!  Isn't it sweet? I LOVE it when I see kids coloring alongside their moms.   It really warms my heart! <3  My special thanks to Karola for letting me share this precious photo right here on the AW blog.  ^_^

I hope you enjoyed today's showcase as much as I did. Till next time, happy coloring~!!!
