Featured Creation by Denise

Hi, everyone!  Today, I have an adorable showcase by Denise Goeldner,  featuring "Fairy Kitten".

As many of you already know, Aurora Wings has a lot of kitty digis.  This one is unique in the way the kitten has fairy wings.  One of my fluffy kitties was a model for this one.  Every time I look at this kitty, I think of the captioned pic that read something like, "Mommy, they called me fat", "No sweetie, you're fluffy!". LOL

I love how Denise surrounded the fairy kitten with colorful flowers, and then gave the image bright orange borders with matching background paper adding shades of bright pink to warm it up nicely.  You can read more about this adorable creation on her blog here.

The "Fairy Kitten" digi is available at the AW Etsy shop here and at the AW digi shop here.  It is 1500 x 2100 pixels at 300 dpi JPG, 5" x 7"/ 12.7 x 17.8 cm.

New Release - Bird of Paradise Sprite

Hi, everyone!  Another new release today!  Two in two days!  When does that ever happen?!?!

Here's the Bird of Paradise Sprite.  Kind of mouthful, so you could call this one "Strelitzia Sprite" instead.  This has got to be one of the most uniquely shaped flowers and certainly unforgettable once you see it.  The shape, the colors, the bird-like impression... it's all magical!

I've designed the Bird of Paradise Sprite with a headdress of the bloom and a matching gown made of leaves and petals.  I think this would be a fun digi for you to color with bright, tropical hues for a summer time card or other craft project.

It is available at my Etsy shop here and at the Aurora Wings digi shop here.  1500 x 2100 pixels at 300 dpi JPG, 5" x 7"/ 12.7 x 17.8 cm approx.   Can you believe Aurora Wings' Sprites Collection now numbers 46 (including the freebie "Dandelion Sprite")?  When I drew my very first sprite, "Woodland Bluebell Sprite", I had no idea I would be making this many, and I still have a long list of flowers, fruits, and vegetables to turn into sprites.

You can see the original fully colored version on my art blog here.  The art blog is where I post my work in progress and loose sketches, if you want to take a peek at what might be coming to the AW shop as digis before they're announced. ^_^

New Release - Memento Mori

I am really excited to present to you today another showcase of the works by members of my DT, featuring a new digi, "Memento Mori".  I have many ladies on my team who love the darker side of life, and a while back, a request was made for a floral arrangement with a skull (with or without a spider LOL).  It took me a while to get to it, but I had an idea right away, with a theme that has fascinated me for some time now (Over the years, I have developed an interest in Victorian death photography and 'Memento mori' art.).

"Memento mori" is a Latin phrase, that means "Remember you will die" or "Remember your own mortality".  Artwork with this theme often depicts 3 objects, representing life, death, and time.  Life is often represented by fresh flowers (or live insects or birds), death by a skull and time by a pocket watch or an hourglass.  In my image, life is represented by the poppies (three phases - buds, blooms, and seed pods - to touch on the notion of time), death by the skull, and time is somewhat obscurely referenced here with a spider (Think of Black Widow with a red hourglass marking on its belly.).

Enough on the back story of the digi.  Now feast your eyes on the fabulous creations by the ladies of my DT~!!   Don't you just love it when you get to see everyone's unique take on a single image?

Sandra

Aren't these stunning??  Please visit each designer's blog and leave some love for their spectacular creations.

"Memento Mori" digital stamp is available at my Etsy shop here and also at my online shop here.  It is a black and white JPG file at 300 dpi, 1800 x 2100 pixels, measuring 6" x 7"/ 15.2 x 17.8 cm.  Loaded with file details, with skull slightly shaded with stippling to make coloring easier, this is a fun digi for those who love the dark side or for seasonal occasions like Halloween.

You might also be interested in the poppies-only digi "Poppy".  This was used by Donna for the upper left corner to compliment the main image.  This popular floral digi is available at my Etsy shop here.  It comes a little larger, measuring 7" x 8" / 17.8 x 20.3 cm, at 300 dpi, 2100 x 2400 pixels JPG.
